What a wonderful book! I've tried three times to write a coherent review of this book. I just can't seem to find the words to express my thoughts and feelings about this remarkable book. I listened to the audiobook, and with the three different voices narrating the different first person accounts, I felt like I got to know the characters. There was such a depth to them. Though the topic of the book is civil rights in the 60s, it's not the story of the marches and speeches and big news events...it's the story of the household, the story of the everyday tensions, and what happens when a group of black maids tell their stories about working for white families.
